Playing with Exercise
Hey Guys :)
I know there is always a lot of buzz about what you should and shouldn't be doing in terms of exercise. I know some fitness professionals tell clients that they should only be doing resistance training because it's the quickest way to build lean muscle and lose fat mass. Some say that you should never touch a weight. Some say exercise a lot, and some say exercise a little. It can be conflicting at times, but what all fitness professionals completely agree on is that we want our clients to MOVE.
Fitness is not about being perfect at programming, having exercise feel mundane, or performing every squat flawlessly. Fitness is about progressing so that you are better than yesterday... and sometimes that involves motivation instead of one more weight training session. Today I decided to play with some body weight movements and some wall handstands. I'm just like anybody else... there are days I'd rather lick dirt than perform another squat. Making exercise fun today helped get my motivation back, and more importantly made me MOVE!
No, I shouldn't be doing handstands every day and expect my body to change... but sometimes it's more important to move and be good to your body. To play!
What are some ways you like to incorporate play into your workouts or lifestyle?!
